Works on macOS & Windows · Models hwA (USB) & hwB (USB + Bluetooth)

1 What's in the box

Three parts and a quick-start card. That's everything you need.

1 · Light bar + stand 2 · Controller + lead 3 · USB-C to USB-A cable

Which model do you have? It's printed on your box label. hwA is USB-only; hwB adds Bluetooth. USB setup is identical for both.

2 How it connects

Computer → controller → light bar. The supplied cable runs from your computer to the controller; the controller's built-in USB-C lead plugs into the light bar.

3 Set it up (USB)

Six quick steps.

  1. Place the light bar where others can see it. Sit it in the weighted stand at the edge of your desk or on a shelf.
  2. Plug the controller's built-in USB-C lead into the bottom of the light bar.
  3. Connect the supplied cable. USB-C end into the port on the controller, USB-A end into a USB port on your computer. The light flashes once to show it has power.
  4. Install the app and sign in. See Download the app below.
  5. Confirm "Connected" in the app, then pick your platform under Dashboard → Status Source.
  6. Done. The light now follows your status — about every 30 seconds on the free plan, and as often as every five seconds on paid plans.
Tip: Use a USB-A port on the computer itself, not an unpowered hub, for steady power. If your computer only has USB-C ports, use a USB-C to USB-A adapter (not included).

4 Download the app

One page for Windows and Mac — choose your system, then install from the Microsoft Store, the Mac App Store, or as a direct download.

Download the app →

The app is free and automatically syncs one platform — Microsoft Teams, Slack or Zoom. Discord starts at $4.99/month. Multiple connected platforms require Professional or Team, starting at $9.99/month. Upgrade any time from Account in the app.

5 Pick your status source

Tell the app which app your status should follow.

In the app

Open Dashboard → Status Source and choose your platform. Sign in when prompted — sign-in happens on the platform's own secure page, so the app never sees your password.

Which platforms

Free: Microsoft Teams, Slack or Zoom. Paid plans: Discord too, and several platforms on one account that you can switch between from the same menu.
Using Microsoft Teams? Teams status needs a work or school Microsoft 365 account — Microsoft doesn't provide it for personal accounts. If your company requires IT approval for new apps, the app shows a link you can send to your admin.
Not seeing an update right away? The free plan checks about every 30 seconds. Click Refresh for an instant update.
